- Spam Database
Our spam database currently holds over 200,000 unique and current spam samples, stored as 128 bit hash value digital fingerprints. These methods ensure that the slightest variations of known spam mails are recognized. The database is fed and kept current through hundreds of spam collectors and reverse updates to the databases distributed amongst our customer base four times a day.
How it works: Cobion Spam Collectors and Spam Database
- URL Database
Over 80% of all spam mails contain a hyperlink. Cobion is the only content security provider that cross checks these against a URL filter list to help identify spam mails. In fact, it is our own and the world's largest, OrangeFilter , with over 20 million categorized URLs. - Keyword Analysis
This process involves typical word combinations that spammers tend to use and compliments the other four methods. - Text Classifier
This online classification process is based on SVM technology and analyzes e-mails for the meaning based on complex statistical methodology (content analysis of text documents). OrangeSpam's Text Classifier is currently one of the most technologically advanced and reliable processes in spam recognition — it doesn't need to be ‘trained’ by its user. - Meta Heuristics
Various heuristical methods check e-mails for components that are typical of spam mail such as message ID, sender, recipient, number of recipients, etc. using an internal scoring system. - Black/White Sender Check
Processes used by OrangeSpam SDK can be implemented easily and, more importantly selectively. Statistics on functionality and performance of individual processes based on your own personal goals can be generated at any time.
